A Vegend to Remember
Armed with a van of healthy snacks, our favourite pair of shades and our all-important selfie stick, we headed south to the seaside to share the amazing taste of freeze-dried fruit and veg with a (not so sunny) Brighton.
Nothing But exhibited alongside 200 other stall holders at VegfestUK Brighton, a show featuring an impressive product range, from mouth-watering patisseries, to beauty lust-haves and a good representation of ethical organisations such as The Woodland Trust.
More than 12,000 visitors braved the wild weather to attend the two-day event, held on the weekend of March 28th, at the prestige Brighton Centre, to celebrate all things vegan.
But we’re pleased to say that the gale-force conditions outside certainly didn’t dampen any spirits as guests enjoyed a rich melange of 15 specialist vegan caterers, meat-free musclemen and dairy-free dating, for a veggie bonanza.
To add to the experience for our visitors, performances and talks were held throughout the weekend featuring activists, vegan comedians, chefs and campaigners. A team of vegan bodybuilders were also on hand to show the crowds how to maintain success as a competitive athlete whilst following a vegan lifestyle.
This year we brought our sister product (and bread friend) Hoot Snacks along for the journey and visitors couldn’t get enough of its whole grain goodness. The smoky bacon flavour certainly proved to be popular with the vegetarian market, and even turned out to be a best seller.
It would seem more and more people are taking the vegan pledge as this year marked the event’s biggest turn out yet. No sooner had we placed the last packet of beetroot and parsnip on the stand, we were informed the queue was already right the way round the building.
We couldn’t serve our samples quickly enough as people delved in to experience the light and refreshing taste of freeze-dried fruit and veg, and we must say the feedback we got was nothing short of awesome: “It does all kinds of crazy in your mouth!” being one of our favourites.
It was a delight to bump into some old friends from previous events and we certainly made lots of new ones too, and of course we couldn’t resist the urge to take a few cheeky snaps with our trusty selfie stick! Why not head on over to our Instagram @Nothingbutsnacks to check out all the fun we had?
Thank you Brighton, we had a blast... until next year.
